Catheter Closure of Patent Ductus Arteriosus with the "Amplatzer Duct Occluder"
(English Version) 


1. This film will demonstrate the practical procedure of catheter closure of Patent Ductus Arteriosus with the "Amplatzer Duct Occluder".


2. The Amplatzer duct occluder is a mushroom shaped device made from a Nitinol wire mesh. There is a retention flange which is 2 to 3 millimetres larger than the cone-shaped portion of the device. 

3. This retention flange (disc) is designed to engage the aortic ampulla whilst the cone-shaped portion (plug) occludes the duct. Within the device are securely sewn polyester patches which induce thrombosis with resulting duct closure.  


4. With this family of devices we can close ducts from 2 to more than 16mm in diameter.


5. The clinical diagnosis is confirmed by transthoracic echocardiography. This investigation will also exclude additional cardiac anomalies which preclude the use of the occluder, for example, aortic coarctation.

1. Данный фильм иллюстирирует практическую процедуру катетерного перекрывания незаращенного боталлова протока с использованием окклюдера «Amplatzer».

2. Окклюдер «Amplatzer» для перекрывания протоков - это устройство грибообразной формы, изготовленное из нитиноловой проволочной сетки. В нем имеется удерживающий выступ, который на 2-3 мм шире, чем конусообразная часть устройства.

3. Этот удерживающий выступ-диск предназначен для того, чтобы удержать ампулу аорты, пока конусообразная часть (пробка) перекрывает проток. Внутри устройства надежно вшиты кусочки полиэстера, которые провоцируют тромбоз с последующим перекрыванием протока.

4. Используя устройства этой серии, мы можем перекрывать протоки диаметром от 2 мм до 16 мм и более.

5. Клинический диагноз подтверждается трансторакальной эхокардиографией. Это обследование также исключит дополнительные аномалии со стороны сердца, которые могут препятствовать использованию устройства для перекрывания протока, например, такие, как коарктация аорты.

With the exception of congenital heart defects, most heart disease affects older animals. Aggravation of these diseases may be one cause of high mortality. only the major diseases will be presented below.

Myocardial Dilation  

Myocardial diseases affect the myocardium (heart muscle) and are often of unknown origin. Myocardial dilation is caracterized by dilation of the ventricles coupled with diminished contractile capacity of the heart, reculting in obstructed blood flow. It is found especially in large breeds, particularly in doberman pinchers, boxers and cocker spaniels.

Обычно встречается у собак крупных пород, в частности, у доберманов-пинчеров, боксеров и коккер-спаниелей.

Es muy importante verificar que se han realizado las siguientes operaciones antes de abrir el triturador:

1. Desconectar el cable de corriente de su base.

2. Para abrir el triturador, retirar el tapon protector del tornilo de la cubierta del casete. Quitar el tornillo y tirar del resalte de la salida del cable electrico hacia arriba. Desalojar la junta pasamuros con el cable de la tapa.

3. Retirar la carcasa de ventilacion del motor.

4. Desconectar las conexiones de cable electrico al motor y presostato.

Перед тем, как открыть отходорастиратель, очень важно выполнить следующие операции:


1. Отключить шнур питания от розетки сети.

2. Для того, чтобы открыть отходорастиратель, нужно снять защитный колпачок с винта крышки кассеты. Открутить винт и потянуть кверху за выступ выхода шнура питания. Извлечь проходную прокладку вместе со шнуром питания из крышки.

3. Извлечь вентиляционный кожух мотора.

4. Отсоединить подключения электрокабеля к мотору и датчику-реле давления (прессостату).
